Long awaited reconstruction of the former prison at Zamkowa Street in Kielce has finally finished. Buildings have been reconstructed and adapted to meet the needs of two institutions. Local authorities officially created a jointly operated organisation "Wzgórze Zamkowe" leaded by Janusz Knap, with two independent and autonomous establishments: Design Centrum Kielce (DCK) conducted by MarekCecula and the Center for Historic Memory (Osrodek Mysli Patriotycznej, OMP) managed by Marek Maciągowski.

Two separate institutions are located side by side in the renovated plaza. This is the first phase of the investment, amounting to almost 13 million PLN allocated for revitalization program of the historic center of Kielce.

Design Centrum Kielce team is currently on board creating a new international foundation. A multilayered operation is being structured and will soon serve the local community of Kielce, the country and the world. The official opening of the institution is scheduled for May 2012.

For now we can enjoy minimalistic interiors inhaling ascetic aura of empty buildingswithout furniture, equipment and documents. It is a raw yet very beautiful version of our future Design Centrum Kielce. We will welcome you here soon!
